Football in the Holy Land
Recently the Palestinian football team was refused a visa by the British government. Of course, no reason was given. How enlightened a country we live in!
The Israeli team has just played against England. Visas were evidently no problem.
We used to boycott South Africa; and the tactic finally worked. Israel, however, seems immune from all criticism by the British government or the serried ranks of football supporters.
So tyranny is once more rewarded: not an edifying spectacle.
Gordon, of course, made no comment!
